YouTube App Returning To Amazon Fire TV Devices

Amazon and Google have finally resolved their dispute that kept YouTube off Fire TV devices for more than a year. The two companies have announced that they will re-launch YouTube on Amazon Fire TV devices and Fire TV Edition smart TVs “in the coming months.” The duo also announced that the Prime Video app will also come to Chromecast devices and Android TVs. The companies also added that the YouTube TV and YouTube Kids apps will appear on Fire TV devices later this year.

Heather Rivera, global head of product partnerships at YouTube, states, “We are excited to work with Amazon to launch the official YouTube apps on Fire TV devices worldwide… Bringing our flagship YouTube experience to Amazon Fire TV gives our users even more ways to watch the videos and creators they love.”

Nothing has been said about the return of YouTube on Amazon’s Echo Show device, however. YouTube was available on the Echo Show in the past (before the dispute between Amazon and Google).
